OP-05 box price, reprint status and Bandai tape checks
As of 2026-09-30, current eBay asks center near $300 across 8 verified listings. Completed eBay sales last put the box near $174 on 2026-09-14. OP-05 demand is unusually concentrated around its Gear 5 and signed Luffy treatments, so sealed-box asks can move faster than the rest of the set. The dated market series and top-10 table should be read together.
Reprint record: Our current source ledger has no dated OP-05 retailer or distributor reprint entry. Restock rumours and marketplace inventory are not labelled as a reprint unless a traceable source supports the claim.
Factory-seal check: High demand makes seal photos especially important: verify the original Bandai security tape is present and uncut, then inspect the side flaps, bottom and product code. Extra shrink does not replace the tape check.
The watershed box
If a single set moved One Piece cards from hobby corner to mainstream collecting, it is this one. Awakening of the New Era lands on the Gear 5 arc, and its chase — the alternate-art Luffy 119 with the gold-stamped signature — became the most talked-about card in the game's history. Law and Luffy alternates deepen the list, but this box's economics hang on one card to a degree no earlier set matched.
That concentration cuts both ways: when the flagship Luffy is strong, sealed OP-05 looks unstoppable, and when its graded supply builds, the box cools with it. The per-card rows under the chase table are the thing to watch here, more than the box price alone.
OP-05 box price: the tracked trajectory
The Japanese Awakening of the New Era sealed box entered our tracking in Jun 2026 around $220 and stands near $174 as of 2026-09-14 — it fell 21% over the window, peaking at $238 in the week of 2026-06-22. The English-language Awakening of the New Era box trades near $1,047 as of 2026-09-29 (+7% over its tracked window) — about 6.0x the Japanese box (JP as of 2026-09-14, EN as of 2026-09-29). This ratio does not explain why.
How the OP-05 box price compares with its tracked range (Sep 2026)
The current value is about 27% below the tracked peak ($238 → $174). Past peaks do not set future floors. The top card alone (Monkey D. Luffy) is worth about 18x the box, so the visible chase value is highly concentrated. Official pull rates are unpublished. It is not opening expected value.
