How many packs are in a One Piece booster box?

A standard One Piece Card Game booster box contains 24 booster packs. That is true for the Japanese and English versions of every main set (OP-01 through the current release). What differs between the two languages is what is inside each pack — and what you pay for it.

Japanese vs English boxes: the official numbers

• Japanese booster pack: 6 cards per pack (Bandai official). A 24-pack box holds 144 cards. For the newest set, OP-17 The World's Strongest Warriors, Bandai lists an MSRP of ¥240 per pack (tax included) — about ¥5,760 per box, roughly $37 at mid-2026 exchange rates. Earlier sets launched at lower pack prices, so check the official product page for a specific set's original MSRP.
• English booster pack: Bandai's US site lists current English boosters at USD $4.99 MSRP per pack — about $119.76 per 24-pack box. Bandai's English product pages list 12 cards per pack for EB-01 and EB-05; the English main-set pages, OP-01 through OP-18, give no per-pack card count.
• Boxes per case: a case is a sealed carton of boxes shipped to retailers. For the Japanese OP-01 Romance Dawn display, a retailer source lists 12 boxes per case (onepiececard-letter.com). Bandai's product pages do not state a case configuration, so this is not generalized to other sets.

Two boxes, same set, very different sticker prices: a Japanese box at retail costs roughly a third of an English box at retail. What rarities come in a box?

Bandai publishes how many card types each rarity has, but never the odds of pulling them. The newest Japanese main set, OP-17 The World's Strongest Warriors, breaks down like this on Bandai's own product page:

Source: Bandai's official OP-17 product page, read September 28, 2026. These are counts of distinct cards in the set, not how many land in one box. A pack holds 6 cards and Bandai publishes no pull rates, so any precise "1 in X packs" figure is somebody's estimate.

How many of the top rarities land in any given box is randomized, and premium variants (manga art, special-art parallels) appear at low, unpublished odds. Community case-opening reports circulate, but the figures conflict widely between sources, so this site does not publish a pull rate until an auditable sealed-case sample supports it.

Collectors often compare chase-card prices with sealed-box prices because rare premium variants are part of opening demand. The comparison is not expected value: Bandai does not publish the pull rates needed for that calculation. Retail price (MSRP) vs market price

Japanese retail is fixed per pack, so every box has a printed baseline you can measure the market against. The table below puts Bandai's Japanese MSRP next to what a sealed box actually sold for, per set and per pack. Across the 18 sets with a completed sale in the last 28 days, the widest gap is OP-01 at 10.0× Japanese retail per pack ($12.46), and the narrowest is OP-08 at 2.4× ($3.29). Sets with no completed sale in the last 28 days are left blank rather than carried forward.

MSRP is Bandai's Japanese manufacturer price, tax included. “Box sold” is the median of completed eBay sales for the sealed Japanese box, as of October 13, 2026; “per pack” divides that by the pack count in the same row. Yen converted at ¥1 = $0.00631 (October 12, 2026). A multiple above 1× is what an overseas buyer pays over Japanese shelf price, including the seller's shipping and margin — it is not a measure of card value.

Practical takeaways:

• Buying to open: compare the box price to MSRP first. Paying far above retail for an in-print set means the market expects chase cards to justify it — verify that on the set's top-10 card list before you pay the premium.
• Buying to hold: the number of packs never changes; what changes is scarcity. Our comparison table shows every box's current price, card support and scarcity signals side by side.

Special box types: EB and PRB

Besides main sets, Bandai releases Extra Boosters (EB) — such as EB-01 Memorial Collection and EB-03 Heroine's Edition — and Premium Boosters (PRB), reprint-focused products sold mainly through Japanese channels. Their per-pack contents and pricing differ from main sets and from each other, so check the official product page for each. Do all boxes guarantee a Secret Rare or manga rare?

No. Bandai does not guarantee a manga-art card in each box, and the relevant pull rates are not published. Card demand, sealed supply and that uncertainty can all affect secondary-market prices.
