Bandai has officially announced OP-17 for August 22, 2026 (Japan/Asia) and August 28, 2026 in English — the closest to a simultaneous global release the game has had. Official specs per Bandai's product page: 6 cards per pack, 131+4 card types, ¥240 per pack MSRP ($4.99 EN). How to read the release rhythm

Bandai has kept a steady cadence: a main set roughly every quarter in Japan, with the English version historically following three to four months later. That gap has been shrinking — OP-14 arrived in English almost simultaneously with Japan, and OP-16's English release came just two weeks after the Japanese one. For collectors this matters in two ways. First, the old strategy of importing Japanese boxes before the English hype wave has less runway than it used to. Second, release weeks concentrate supply: as our six-month price study shows, both language versions of a new set tend to bottom in the weeks right after wide release — OP-16's English box fell from about $400 at pre-release to $188 by mid-July.
